Sports Photography
I picked sports photography out of the list because it has been something I have wanted to try for the longest time. I’m a really big sports fan so I thought taking my passion for photography and applying it to the sports world would be a lot of fun. I dont have any specific photographers that have influenced me for this assignment, but I have been a fan of sports illustrated for a long time.
I was able to shoot our mens Basketball team a couple weeks ago and had a really fun time doing it. I’m not the biggest fan of basketball, but seeing it up close through my lens I have gained more appreciation for the sport. It was a close game but we ended up losing by just a couple baskets. I will definitely be going back to capture some more games.

Last week I was able to shoot our mens volleyball game. Instead of being down on the court I took a higher elevation to capture the game. Volleyball I feel is a bit more challenging to capture. The ball moves around the court faster then basketball, plus the trick plays at the net. You go to focus on one player to do a spike and it ends up being someone else with the ball. After capturing both sports I prefer shooting basketball more. I would love to shoot Hockey, Baseball and Football sometime as well as those are my favorite sports. Both the mens and womens volleyball team won their games that night. It took the men to the 5 set which I believe is like overtime to win the match over Fleming.
