spending identity
research and its design product: The design brief, diagrams, posters | work with Rachel Hallock
To know someone’s identity is to know who he/she is. There are many things that we do to indicate our identity to those who don’t know us. Our identities are often judged by what we have, and how we spend our money and time.
We found that the notion of identity, both literally and metaphoracally can be related to how one spends time and money. Among many ways of judging the value of the time and money, we foucused our attention on an individual’s emotion when they spend their time or money. The individual’s emotional value from their spending is quantified based on our measuing system and the quantified value acts as an identity of the person. The identity keeps changing monthly by being affected the person’s emotional value of spending time and money.
