Designed as an interactive discovery and creativity center for children in the heart of state college, the building is itself intended to serve as an education tool. Prefabricated carbon fiber nodes [taking formal and mathematical influence from voronoi diagrams] are the structure of the building while also acting as the housing units for all of the building's mechanical systems [hvac, lighting, electrical wiring]. The node units are designed to allow for variability in individual form [as seen in the renderings and rapid prototyped model] and still maintain the function of traditional construction materials in its ease of assembly and dimensional consistency.
