PACKAGING AND COLLATERAL DESIGN

BRIEF:
Design a piece of packaging for a new, original (hypothetical/imaginary) food or beverage brand.
Add some collateral design such as a brochure, info card, card game, launch invitation, etc. Be creative and conceptual! Your brand theme must portray a South African flavour in terms of visuals, copy, and content. You may use any of the official South African languages, or an informal ‘street style’ combination thereof.
RATIONALE:
LIYEZA tea, elixir of youth
Name Breakdown:
Liyeza, has two meanings in IsiXhosa, depending on the context.
directly translates to:
1. ‘it is coming’ - arriving
2. medicinal herbs
1. ARRIVING - old South African postage stamps and cards
2.MEDICINAL - The three teas I chose are Rooibos, Buchu, and Honeybush,
all three of these teas have health benefits and all three are grown in the Western Province. I decided on my idea, purely off nostalgia, and the love I had received from my grandmother growing up. Growing up, my grandmother was a domestic worker for an English lady, who
would often go back to England, so she always received packages and letters from her through her son. She would then go home and show us, not knowing how to read, I was obviously intrigued by the the hand written letters, the stamps, and just everything that came with the packaging. Tea was almost a form of love language, whenever my grandmother made a cup, she would always pour some in her saucer, so that it chills quicker and my siblings and would drink from. The reason I put these two memories together is to deliver the love I had always gotten, as a warm beverage with health benefits.
