My Design Journey/Strategy:

For my design strategy, I started to so some research on examples of other books and their layout. I wanted to make sure the layout of the text works to where the reader can understand and feel that the book they are reading isn't confusing.

What I learned:

I learned that having a non-cluttered and properly formatted layout allows viewers to read and enjoy a design especially when it comes to reading a book. Font size, spacing, leading hyphenation and justification are all crucial when it comes to laying out text for a book.

Exploration of InDesign:

While designing my project on InDesign, I learned how to use various helpful tools to help layout my project.

Design Challenges:

Some design challenges that I faced were trying to keep the layout of the text simple and not cluttered. I struggled a little to space out text accordingly as I wanted to have the text as readable as possible.
Final Conclusion

Is my design successful?

I believe my design is successful because it displays the information/text to the viewer. Its simplistic and easy design and visual hierarchy allows the viewer to not get confused. The small detailed illustrations on the half cover page and colophon page add a creative aspect to the book.

Struggles:

I struggled with my visual layout as I didn't want to make my poster to be confusing and hard to read.

Improvements?
