What Is Reality?
The aim of this project was to explore the idea of 'what is reality?' through the use of photography and photoshop manipulation.
The theme of my work came out of the following quote,

"photographs are sometimes all we have to understand ourselves and the world around us."

This led me to think about what is true, and what is reality. Thus the idea I decided to explore was that:

To explain consciousness we have to rely on consciousness, and so reality is ultimately based on nothing, which is nothing what is real.

I started to investigate this through taking photos of glass bottles. From there, I developed the work by taking photos of a variety of objects in my home and looking at artist models such as Daisuke Yokota, Paul Rousteau, Trevor Paglen, Seth Price, and Shaun Waugh. The final three images I chose were all of flowers and plants within my home.
The final three images:
The below images are the photos I had taken using glass bottles to explore how the bottles warped our vision of the space and light around them. I also used these images to further explore photoshop tools.
This project was completed in 2021.
