I wanted to capture the smokey feeling coming from the fire he is blowing on. This was for the Rodeo Livestock and Show Art Contest. This is a picture depicting the life of a western cowboy.

I drew two different sides of my sister to show her different character traits that unify her unique personality as a whole. The colorful girl presents her bright and fun personality. The letters and numbers that are all throughout her hair symbolizes her knowledge and wisdom. The monotone girl on the bottom contrasts the character traits of the girl on top of her. The monotone one is dram to reflect her negative, angry character traits.the settings from these two sides of my sister merge in the middle, becoming one. The tree in the background is also filled with objects and activities that makes up my sister. Although it looks like a tree when you view it from far away, when you look closely at the tree there are little items such as music notes,animals. and food.

I wanted to capture how two totally different people can come to make a whole. The man is painted in a totally different technique as the woman.Both are drawn to depict two totally contradicting personalities. The man uses a "block-like" technique to illustrate his complex and organized personality. The woman is drawn over with oil pastel freely and flowingly to represent her loose and wild personality. In the middle, both overlap to create unity with each other;s contrasting selves.

I compiled a typical view of how shoes are usually clustered all over the floor by my family and I. This is just an ordinary, daily picture of how our floor looks like by the door. I wanted to take this typical thing and change it into something unique and special. Using different mediums, I wanted to display how different each of us are through the shoes we wear.

I wanted to capture the hectic, busy feeling of Times Square. Painting roughly and with swift brushstrokes, I aimed to create that feeling.

This was a school assignment and a competition. I tried to capture the actual reality of a horse after a long day at the ranch.

This is an artwork of my sister at the beach who is the focal point. I used flowing lines of bright color to depict her bright personality. As she is kneeling down, her hand it clutched into the sand. Though she tries her best to clasp it from escaping, the sand will eventually escape. Just as how waves push old waves back and moves new waves forward, my sister's memories come and go. No matter how hard she tries to hold on to the past memories, they will eventually go. The point of this art piece was to depict that realization oh how life comes and goes.. Just like how waves move involuntarily, our memories act the same way.

I drew everything in monotone so that the focal point would be put to the shadow of color. My sister's reflection is drawn in color to present her mixed emotions that flow throughout her body from time to time. Rather than actual reflections, which depict the person's exterior appearance, I drew her reflections to display how she looked on the inside. I used bright colors to present her fun and loving personality and had some dark, gloomy colors to make up for her depressing emotions.

The person's reflection depicts another sense of identity of that same person. Though it is the same person, this reflection is used to portray puzzling questions on her identity. The When looking at reflections, sometimes they tend to be blurry and fading away. This piece was to portray a sense of losing identity through a lose and blurry view of her reflection.

There is a strong contrast between the light and dark of this artwork. She is trying to escape out of the darkness and reaches out. The darkness symbolizes all the hidden lies and secrets that she was held. But with all these dark colors... there are light colors mixed in with it such as purple,pink and light blue. These bright colors within the dark area of the piece stands for the hope that is still left for her.

The concept was to present a girl feeling restricted from something...but you don't know what that something is. The intricate details of the feet and the girl's shadows present a puzzling sense of feeling. These intricate designs are to represent a mystery that is,yet, hard to unravel. I used colors of dark to light to present a feeling of hope that still remains for the girl from being free of whatever it is that is preventing her from doing so.

I used patterns to make up for the shadows on the bike with a playful choices of color. For the bike's shadows, I used micropoint pen and designed patterns to make up for it as well. I wanted to capture a totally different way of viewing a typical bike.

I took a picture of this setting when I visited San Antonio. I liked how everything had arranged and created a unified feeling with each other. Using ink at the end, I wanted to capture the rough and rusty feeling of San Antonio's streets.

I was trying to capture the positive energetic flow of the band's energy through these bright colors. That positive flow of energy was being transferred to the audience as they were splashed with bright, energetic colors.
