"I’ve often heard people say: ‘I wonder what it would feel like to be on board a spaceship,’ and the answer is very simple. What does it feel like? That’s all we have ever experienced. We are all astronauts on a little spaceship called Earth." -R. Buckminster Fuller

This project is an ode to Buckminster Fuller, considered by many the pioneer of Ecologic Design . This is a hybrid redesign of his book Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth.

Mr. Fuller traces man intellectual evolution and weighs his capability for survival on this magnificent craft, this Spaceship Earth, this superbly designed sphere of almost negligible dimension in the great vastness of space.

All the materials used are eco friendly to support Fuller's idea of ecologic design.

There is a combination of digital and handcrafted techniques such as manual printing and origami.

As McLuahn said "The medium is the message" so in this hybrid editorial book redesign there is an intend of exploring the concept of key messages across the book and highlight them visually.

This project won 1st prize at LABJOVEM contest, in the Graphic Design category and

was part of several exhibitions in Faial, Terceira, S.Miguel (Azorean islands) and then in Lisboa, Portugal during 2014.
