This painting was for my first big painting project. We were required to use skulls and paint them into a volumetric form then place a pattern to contrast with them. I mapped out where everything was supposed to go and painted the skulls first. The pattern was meant to interact with the skulls to create the illusion that they were entangled within. However, not everything went to plan and my instructor told me to embrace the imperfection. So, I painted the pattern in and filled the cracks with color to fully embrace the imperfection.
