By summer of 2007 Heroes has become a huge success and the site has grown at a tremendous rate. I came on board the Heroes team late summer '07 for the Season 2 redesign. The print team already established the new key-art. Besides the new look and feel there was a whole laundry list of usabilty, functionality problems, which had to be solved. One of the big challenges was to clarify which content belonged to "Heroes", "Heroes Evolutions" and "9th Wonders".

Main Promote
Another problem was the flood of promotes that slowly clogged the homepage. I came up with a dynamic main promote area, which allows for "X" amount of promotes, without pushing the page deeper and deeper. This solution was actually quite successful and became the blueprint for other NBC show sites.
Right-hand column promotes
I redesigned the promotes on the right-hand side of the page, I came up with a generic design that matched the new look and feel of the site. The promotes are toned down, have a lot of black space, so they don't overpower the main content of the page.
Additional right-hand column promotes
Below the 300x250 banner, I also standardized the promotes, grouped them into "generic", "Heroes Evolutions" and "Official Heroes" site promotes.
