Provoking Primitism : Exhibition Design

Commercial Design
To design a exhibition center for Alexender McQueen. 
The exhibition is located at Gurney Wharf. Compromises different exhibition halls and showcases, featuring their branding’s past, present and future. The exhibition covers a total of 16,000 sqft.
Exterior Building 

The exhibition is about Alexender McQueen, the past, present and the future. The exterior building of the exhibition hall is designed in various organic forms and flow. Which represents 3 different timeline of the brand. 
Design concept: 
Esoteric • Provocative • Gothic

The Alexender McQueen exhibition hall is designed with the theme ‘the past, present and the future. The exhibition is designed in a form of 3 different buildings, representing the 3 different timeline of the brand. 

‘The past’ exhibiting their iconic pieces they had once created. ‘The past’ which also included Alexender McQueen’s Memorial Gallery, exhibiting his amazing artworks he had created over the years. 

‘The present’, they had invited their current designer Sarah Burton. Bringing AMQ a new life with combination of her style.  

‘The future’ featuring the upcoming 2020 Spring Summer Collection. 
20 Iconic Creations 

This is the exhibition hall where they exhibit Alexender McQueen’s 20 most iconic creation over the past decade. The creations are being showcase in idividual transparent glass frames. There are a total 20 of them including the runway pieces, gowns, and Catherine Middleton’s wedding dress. 
Memorial Gallery 

The Memorial Gallery of the Alexender McQueen. The fashion pieces he had created throughout his whole life before his death. The tree represents his image of his presence in the label, strong as a tree supporting the label and being a great role model. The atrium above act as the main lighting source in the gallery during daytime, to create a gloomy and mystery vibe to the gallery. 
Waiting Area

Right beside the reception area, before the entrance of the exhibition halls. Dark colour interior spaces with a touch of gold essence and wood featured detailing to suit the theme of the exhibition design. Simple yet classic. Furnished with retro inspired furniture as the finishing touch for the waiting area. 
Lounge Area 

At the ground floor located at the end of the whole exhibition. Leisure activities purposes.
The History Gallery 

The History Gallery, everything you need to know about Alexender McQueen ever since it was founded by the designer in 1992. The story behind the spotlight and every design pieces og the label. The provocative incident, having a new creative director has created a new storyline for the label.
