Hokkien Mobile Web Design
This project is designed with the topic of Hokkien Language. Hokkien is the largest Chinese subgroup in Malaysia. This is my first Web Mobile Design project in my Year 2 in The One Academy.
Showreel
Introduction
Hokkien is a Southern Min language originating from the Minnan region in the south-eastern part of Fujian Province in Southeastern Mainland China and spoken widely there. It is also spoken widely in Taiwan (where it is usually known as Taiwanese); by the Chinese diaspora in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and other parts of Southeast Asia; and by other overseas Chinese all over the world.
Insights
Some foreigners travel to Malaysia facing communication issues as they do not understand Hokkien and even some local people especially youngsters nowadays do not know how to speak Hokkien dialect as they do not practice at home and schools. Hence, making the culture of speaking Hokkien dialect is disappearing soon.
Objectives
Create a creative conversation and flashcards on Mobile Web and users are able to relate themselves to the real situation they may meet and how to use Hokkien to communicate with each other.
