Kafkaesque
Adjective
1. relating to, characteristic of, or resembling the literary work of Franz Kafka; marked by a senseless, disorienting, often menacing complexity
Concept

The brief for this project was based on the editorial one, we had to come up with an event related to the books we had chosen, so I decided to use the word Kafkaesque as a central point since all the books I had picked were written by Frank Kafka.

My starting point for the poster was the illustration I had done of Kafka himself, initially my goal was to try and fit the title “inside” him but it was not legible, so I opted for keeping the title boldly across the top. Instead, I fitted a labyrinth to convey the complexity of the author’s thoughts and also the labyrinth the exhibition itself would be.
This exhibition brings together works of art that fall within the term Kafkaesque, that is, works of art relating to or suggestive of Franz Kafka or his works; or works of art that are bizarre, complex, nightmarishly and illogical/irrational, not necessarily having to be related to Kafka.

Just like the Meet Vincent Van Gogh experience, it is a temporary exhibition, which can take place in various parts of the world at the same time, as it does not contain original works by the artists and has various interactive installations for the public.

A partnership between The Franz Kafka Museum in Prague and several museums around the world, such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, would be required. To begin the exhibition was chosen the date of the author's birth, July 3rd, and the date of his death to end it, June 3rd.
