Bronze fish bone

I always take the environment into consideration when designing. As soon as I spotted the dry fountain in our campus' backyard, the thought of safeguarding our wetlands sprung to me. I choose to illustrate my concept using a fish's features. I was inspired by the ancient Chinese concept of Yin and Yan, which represents the interplay between life and death. Each piece of the copper fish, which has clear and artistic patterns, was joined by a jump ring, giving it flexibility. The other was immovable and only attached by a wire; it lacked any fancy decoration. The ceramic pedestal that serves as the hold work's foundation is embellished with seaweed, fish bones, and shells to give the audience a sense of the underwater environment. Finally, I hope that my artwork will encourage people to safeguard water resources and take notice of the nearby wetlands.
