Bottle Experiments: Serious Play part two

Serious Play with Bottles Continued
With my remaing bottle tops and bottoms clustered together my friend decided he could play with them and make something bigger..
My massive cluster
Turns out a lot more of the clusters were glued than he expected..
Apart from two ends that we made into a miniture bottle- I would buy this out of pure cuteness!
Instead we went back to the game we made earlier (see previous project) and made a new function of the big bottle top and string- a human grandfather clock and pendulum!
Although making a good accordian, he was determined to squash the bottle even more..
Needless to say he was unsuccessful unless he got himself a paint stripper..
The next idea developed from two identical tops of bottles that fitted together perfectly to produce a grenade shaped design which we then decided to fill with as many bottle lids as we could.
Dropping them from a height seemed like a good idea if we were able to capture the action at the split second the bottle contraption were to touch the floor- easy in theory, unless you are rubbish with cameras like us!
We tried many attempts and failed..
I guess the moral of the story is to get help from someone who knows what they're doing with a camera before they go galavanting off to explore France.. Something I would do if I did this experiment again!
Some pretty reasonable attempts, but still appalling!

My friend and I decided to call it a day and tidy up the mess we made ready for another day.. starting with the leaves he managed to walk halfway around the studio.
Compacting all the wrappers into a bottle was the best solution to save space and look interesting at the same time- we could now play a game to identify as many wrapper brands as possible in 60 seconds!
I actually really like the concept of stuffing the bottle with the wrappers; it creates something that would remind you of a message in a bottle that's old and been in many people's hands, whereas if the wrappers were folded before putting into the bottle, it would create a completely different impact.
I enjoyed the experimental session with my desk and its contents and found it very entertaining as well as mind stimulating for both my friend and myself. I would definitely recommend doing this at the start of any project- getting some people together and just documenting your playtime!

My friend and I decided we would explore what items my desk had collected and play with various ways to use our time and equipment effectively.
