As a first year industrial design student I have decided to challenge myself to redesign or create a random product in 1hr. Todays item was a lettuce/ green leaf dryer. The annoying use of our current lettuce dryer was spinning handle that was inconsistent and hard to use so to combat this I looked at many items such a coffee grinders, food processors and existing lettuce dryers. The idea of using a rip cord was intriguing to me as it allowed for a simple and easy motion whilst creating a lot of force. This combined with a suction cup based allowed for a sturdy Lettice dryer that is compact, easy to use, understandable and modern. I was very happy with how much I got done in my one hour seen in the image below. I can see my time management and confidence improving, allowing for a more complete product by the end of the hour.
