Ergonomic Universal Pliers
Today's pliers don't look much different from the old ones, why? Because nobody bothers to change them. Until the last few days when I learned how to properly use this tool, it came to my mind why this tool was not updated like all the others?
The main focus of the project was to improve the overall usability of the pliers tool. This tool is outdated and has not improved over the years, until now, where ergonomics are part of our daily lives.
To understand where the problem is centered, I observed 3 different users, one that doesn't use this tool at all, one that uses it consistently and finally one that uses it regularly and I came to the conclusion that the main problem is the cutting edge opening. To improve this, I applied the forms that are regularly used in scissors to the tool to make it more user-friendly.
The thing that destinguishes this plier from others, besides its 3rd cable, is the hability for that cable to spin arround the main one to be adjustable to every user, making this plier the most universal choice for the consumers.
