Werewolf by Night Credits
In 2022 we had the immense pleasure to create the concept, design and tactile artwork for the closing credits (MOE) of Marvel Studio's Werewolf by Night, directed by Michael Giacchino.
Taking inspiration from Marvel's monster comics heritage and the classic black and white horror movies of the 1950s and 1960s, we reconstructed and reinterpreted scenes from the movie as paper stills. Layers and layers of hand cut papercraft make up each still scene to create contrast, depth and volume.
We filmed these stills using analogue cinematographic techniques. By experimenting with different lighting effects as we moved the camera through these miniature models, the static scenes came to life on screen.
Pacing the filmed stills and light-play with Giacchino's dramatically spooky film score captured the essence of the entire movie in an intensely dynamic and compelling minute and forty-five seconds.
