For this book design, academic, interdisciplinary and modern designs were required to work together. White color was chosen for the background to represent an epistemic attitude. Additionally, objective conception was expressed in the layout by placing images and typographies separate.

 

Moreover, the graphic represents the characteristics of this book with images as balanced on the center or inserted from both sides. This intends to address conflict of concepts as “Death and Live”, “Past and Future” and “Individual and Society,” through a rhythm, expressing shrewd straight forward discussions. Yellow emotionally represents a human who’s exploring an epicenter.

 

 

本書には学問的で学際的、また現代的なデザイン性が共存するブックデザインが求められた。そこでまず本の背景にホワイトを選定することによって認識的態度を起因させ、さらにイメージとタイポグラフィを分けて配置することによって客観的な思考の営みを表現した。

 

また鋭い論考を直線的に表現し、「生と死」「過去と未来」「個と社会」というような対峙する概念をリズムを通して解決しようとする本書の特徴を、左右から入り組む様な、また中心点でリズム的にバランスを取っているようなグラフィックによって表現した。カラーにはイエローを選定することによって、色彩的にも「中心点」を見いだす人間像を感情的に表現した。
