Fela Bowie
I created this concept design upon Fela Kuti and David Bowie's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

My main idea was to try and blend the prowess of these two artists that heavily impacted the art of music and my personal favorite influential artists from Nigeria and England. Fela Kuti and David Bowie.

The purpose of this design was in order to highlight certain aspects their unique character despite the two legendary music pioneers emanating from two highly distinct worlds. Fela from Nigeria, and Bowie from England.

The piece depicts an overlapping mix of Fela's popular face paint worn during live performances and also depicts David Bowie's iconic red and blue thunderbolt make-up look.

Although both were masters in the genre of music they crafted, years after their passing, both received a well-deserved induction into the Rock and Roll hall of fame for their respective roles in being the unapologetic and rebellious rockstars that impacted their generations and the world, despite them not playing Metal or rock and roll, but revolutionizing sound as we know it today.
