Book cover design - Tessa Afshar #1

This is my first book cover design!

When the author Tessa Afshar was getting published for the first time in Danish, I was asked to design the cover for this book called Håbets Port (Gates of Hope in danish) - Daughter of Rome in english.
The publisher, Lohse, wanted a new stile for this new book series. Therefore, I presented four different design styles, and we chose this graphic drawing design.

Priskilla, the main character in the book has red hair, and to show the setting in Rome, her hair is made into an uneven mosaic and the roman pillar on the side will be a complete gate, once the book is opened.

I refined the drawing in Adobe Illustrator and finished the work in InDesign with a roman font and logos. Furthermore, I chose to place the bar code on the pillar to give it a twist.
