"A road from Somehwere to Nowhere" a printmaking project created in Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn. Spring 2022.
"Road from Somewhere to Nowhere" describes the experience of Ukrainian refugees when fleeing from the war and my escape from the war, which was no easier than the war itself. It took 7 days and 7 countries to reach Estonia. The name of my artworks expresses the feeling that haunts everyone throughout my road: the blindness, the travel into the unknown. Leaving behind everything to have nothing.
Etched on 7 copper plates, it combines both drypoing, aquatint and soft ground engraving.
