The Proust Armchair Project
This project is based on the reproduction, in 8BIT pixelated visuals and colours, of the texture applyed by Alessandro Mendini in his famous "Poltrona di Proust" (1978). Infact, the colours of these three patterns have been taken from the 256 colour palette of the 8bit graphic cards. To symulate the brush strokes, the squares have other particles on the upper and lower side.
The Armchair's back, with a background based on four different kind of blue there are many squares of different colours that recreate the typical post-impressionist and pointillist style.
In the arms, Mendini preferred a more regular pattern, using only some rules in the sequence of colours.
The left armwe can see three different kind of green, a quite regular sequence of pink squares and turquoise and red random dots.
In the right arm the artist worked on the contrast between the predominant warm colours and the light green and lightblue.
