The lone sentinel stands firm guarding a long lost technology in an ancient alien outpost. The micro gravity of the asteroid base it protects suits its biological goopy form perfectly. Its creators have been extinct for a hundred millennia, yet still it wanders the halls looking to vanquish any who might plunder their technological wonders.
Here's a little insight into my process for creating the Sentinel. I wanted to do a fully digital piece-using Illustrator to make the lines and Photoshop to color. Previously I'd been making my lines on paper and scanning them in, isolating them and painting behind them in Photoshop. I still love that method, but this does lend itself to more flexibility and iteration with placement and composition. I hope you like it!
