This was my favorite assignment to work on. Using a reference photo to add to my piece was the most enjoyable aspect of this project. I outlined a photo of the robot from the movie Castle in the Sky by studio ghibli and Miyazaki. It is not a daunting looking robot in the film and is portrayed as a gentle and neutral being. However, to best communicate the power of artificial intelligence, I changed the design of its eye, as well as added a binary code dialogue exiting from its head. I also had it holding a projection of the Earth to communicate the possibility that artificial intelligence may one day have it "in its hands".
