My self-promotion execution speaks to many aspects of me as a person and me as a designer whilst using my liminal manifesto to guide the conceptual base and illustrative base of my design. The deliverable I have chosen is a pack of tarot cards that each have an aspect of myself as a designer. Tarot cards speak to the liminality of time through their narrative depicting the past, present and future; this speaks to my personal liminal space as a designer as well as speaks to my interest and inspiration of dreams and their meanings. Each card holds a trait of mine with the purpose to accentuate my qualities as a designer: I am driven, curious, adaptable, empathetic and a visionary. The illustrations that accompany these traits are all depicted in arbitrary, somewhat unexpected ways, each representing an aspect of liminal space; this is seen through visuals showing an unfamiliar setting, growth/ change, uncertainty, movement, perspective and an element of time. The front of the deck states “ I see myself in your future” which plays on the topic of Tarot whilst pursuing my self-promotion agenda of the design. Lastly, the back of the card cover holds my business card details to further promote my brand.

The style I decided to settle on reflects my personal brand identity which is based on my preferences and interests as a designer. The illustrations along with my pattern use fine line work to create a semi-detailed yet powerful visual that stands out against a solid colour background. My style often uses contrast and thus, I included contrast through the black and white colour break backgrounds as well as a contrast between the fine line illustrations and heavy, bold typography. The colour choices followed my personal branding which I believe was important to ensure my self-promotion was cohesive.
