Clematis Seamless Pattern

Clematis Watercolour Seamless Pattern
The idea of making clematis patterns came from my childhood. When I was a little girl, I visited my grandma's garden. She loved to grow different kinds of flowers and always invited me when new flowers were blooming. She had a fence in front of her house entwined with clematis flowers of different colors. This flower reminds me of her. The only thing is that the life of a flower is bright but short. However, with illustration and seamless pattern design, I can make flowers last forever.
First I bought a bouquet of clematis flowers and took lots of photos of the flowers from different angles and in different states.
Stage two, as always, is sketch. I find it easier to sketch on paper even when I draw the final piece with digital watercolor.
Next, I drew all the elements with digital watercolour in Procreate.
And the final stage is to create a pattern in Photoshop and find the best backgrounds that fit with the pattern.
One pattern, 8 backgrounds.
Thank you for watching! I hope you enjoyed my story of the Clematis pattern.
