AND THEN IT SNOWED

Witnessing the colliding and merging of two seasons can be an exhilarating experience, especially in high altitudes where snow and gold mix. On my recent trip to Colorado I experienced azure blue skies for a couple of days and then cloudy, misty, rainy weather which transitioned overnight to inches and feet of snow in the highest altitudes. What a shock to the senses to wake up to such an unexpected sight. Even the gold covered aspens seem to deny reality that winter is breathing down their trunks, hanging ever so tightly on to their golden leaves. Mother Nature is always full of creative surprises.
