Many times patients go to the emergency room when it's not necessary. With many hospital emergency rooms full to capacity it's important for the hospital, doctors and patients to allow those in real need to have services ready for them. Baptist decided to introduce a hotline to allow people to call in when they are not sure if they do in fact need to make a trip to the emergency room or if they can use other services available.
