독일 헤센 주의 벳츨라(Wetzlar)에 위치한 라이츠(Leitz)사의 오스카 바르낙(Oskar Barnack)이란 기계공학자는 영화필름을 노광할 수 있는 소형카메라를 발명하였습니다. 그는 1913/1914년에 개인적으로 35mm 롤필름 매거진을 사용할수 있는 24mm X 36mm 촬삭면적을 가진 세계 최초 소형 판형의 카메라 개발을 시작했으며 그 카메라는 우어-라이카라 불리웠습니다 (Ur-leica). 1924년 첫번째 라이카(Leitz Camera)는 양산을 완료, 1925년 시장에 첫선을 보이게 됩니다.

레퍼러스를 보며 최대한 라이카의 느낌을 살리려고 노력했으며, 실제 라이카 제품이 아닌 저만의 디자인 관점이 조금더 들어가있습니다.
A mechanical engineer named Oskar Barnack of Leitz, located in Wetzlar, Hessen, Germany, invented a compact camera that could expose motion picture film. In 1913/1914, he personally started developing the world's first compact plate-type camera with a 24mm X 36mm image area that could use a 35mm roll film magazine, and that camera was called the Ur-leica. In 1924, the first Leica (Leitz Camera) completed mass production, and in 1925, it first appeared on the market.
I modeled a Leica camera because I was fascinated by Leica, which is retro but neat and shows off great brand value and design every time! Looking at the references, I tried to keep the feeling of Leica as much as possible, and it contains a little more of my own design point of view rather than an actual Leica product.
MAKING OF
도형들을 이용해 카메라를 모델링 하였습니다. 꽤 시간이 많이 들었지만 점점 완성되어가는 모습을 보면 시간을 투자한 보람이 느껴지는 것 같습니다. 여러가지 라이팅이나 디자인을 시험해볼 수 있는 시간입니다.
The camera was modeled using shapes. It took quite a bit of time, but it seems to be worth the time invested as I see it getting more and more complete. This is the time to experiment with different lighting and designs.
UV 매핑된 모델을 포토샵에서 다루었습니다. 항상 저는 메테리얼 노드를 복잡하게 하는 편인데 이번 프로젝트는 정리를 깔끔하게 함으로써 나중에 수정하고 싶은 부분을 빠르게 수정하는 것을 목표로 잡았습니다.
A UV mapped model was handled in Photoshop. I always tend to complicate material nodes, but this project aimed to quickly fix the parts I want to fix later by cleaning things up neatly.
바닥에 흩뿌려지는 여러가지 부품들도 전부 레퍼런스를 참고하여 디자인하였습니다. 자칫 심심할수있는 씬에 생명을 불어넣는 작지만 거대한 디테일들을 추가하고자 하였습니다.
The various parts scattered on the floor were also designed with reference to references. I wanted to add small but huge details that bring life to a scene that could otherwise be boring.
레퍼런스를 보며 천천히 라이팅을 시작했습니다. 라이팅의 기본원리만을 이용하여 제품을 더욱 클래식하지만 디테일하게 보여지게끔 설계하였습니다. 새롭게 디자인된 라이카 카메라는 메탈재질이기 때문에 빛 반사가 이루어지는 부분에 따라 제품의 시각적 아름다움을 더욱 극대화 시킬 수 있었습니다.
I slowly started writing while looking at the reference. Using only the basic principles of lighting, the product is designed to look more classic yet detailed. Since the newly designed Leica camera is made of metal, the visual beauty of the product can be further maximized according to the light reflection part.
