Synaesthesia | A Taste of Colour

This project was my entry to the 2014 ISTD competition. I chose to enter the 'Everything About One Thing' brief that stated "Gather a complete knowledge about one single thing and make that accessible for the public in the form of either a book, magazine or digital presence."

I chose to base my publication on synaesthesia.

The word comes from a blend of the Greek words for ‘together’ (syn) and ‘sensation’ (aisthesis), which implies a union of the senses. Synaesthesia is a rare neurological phenomenon in which a person can experience two or more senses occurring at once. For example a synaesthete might see letters of the alphabet as colours, hear paintings, or even taste colours.
