"Der Hund von Baskerville" (original title: The Hound of the Baskervilles), is the third novel featuring detective Sherlock Holmes, written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1901).
I created a new edition of the book in 2020, including micro and macro typography. In this showcase, I present the dust cover, the title page, and some pages of the book.
In this context, I created a logo for a fictional publishing company, named "Baskerville".
I used the font "Baskerville" for the logo and the content of the book, in accordance with the title.
I gave glyphs a lot of meaning, so they appear in the logo, on the dust cover, and as decorations in the book. The quotation marks are reminiscent of the footsteps of the Hound of the Baskervilles, which roams the dark expanses of England. This element also appears in the logo and the chapter references.
For the analog version, I created a gray linen cover, a white dust cover, and used Artoz paper for the pages.
