The Red Guide and The Fall Upwards

The Red Guide and The Fall Upward
This piece was me wanting to pushing several thing, that I think I was lacking in and it comes in two parts. If you want to hear about it.
One: Posing and actions
A lot of my work at the time had a lot in common. Some person standing straight up doing a very simple action. That being someone holding a weapon, waving to void of nothing in front of them, or dramatically posing. By it self this isn't that bad, but when I line them up this is what I saw.
Visually it felt the same. Sure, they are doing different thing but even then just one thing. I wasn't pushing myself. So l though what the opposite of standing/walking? What about falling? Yeah, lets try that.
Two: Stuff Breaks and Hats Hate Staying on Your Head.
Now tasked with the job of draw some one falling I started my research. After looking at sky diving video and Marvel Comic books (as there is a lot of people who are falling to their doom to be saved by the hero). I realized something, horrible. That clothes and loose objects on their person would react to the thing we call gravity. So better look into that more. The idea for the lantern's chain breaking came from the pose being done and I need something for them to reach for and so I gave them the lantern, just to take it away.
