The Book Jacket project we were asked to use one of our favorite books and redesign a new book jacket for the book. I choose the book “The Hate U Give (THUG)” by Angie Thomas. This book is about a young girl who experinences a loss of a childhood friend due to police brutalty and gun violence. The purpose of this project is to not only design a book jacket but to include an analogy/metaphor in our cover design. Because of the meaning of the book I thought of designing a gun with a daisy coming out of the gun to show the result of gun violence. The daisy symbolizing the growth from someone’s grave which are usually weeds and dasies. I finished it off with a bold grunge font and textures to go with the enviroment from the book.
