Drove through Rainier with rain coming through thinking we'd be lucky to get a glimpse of the mountain.. and lucky we got. The fog opening up to reveal 10,000 vertical feet of mountain (!) covered in glacier, with this blinding halo of cloud in front of it, miles and miles wide.. simply the best most awe-inspiring thing I've ever seen. I tried very hard to do justice to it with the photos & they're some of my best but they don't even get close to conveying the majesty of the mountain and how incredibly huge it is
