Straddling the worlds of brute violence and Christian piety, Carry Nation, a radical temperance leader of the 1800s, used her hatchet to destroy local saloons and enforce the prohibition of alcohol. Fascinated by her conflicting viewpoints and overall life story, I created this travel-sized guide and toolkit as a playful look into the world and mind of the infamous, hatchet-wielding Carry Nation. (This inconspicuously designed toolkit comes complete with a hand guide, small poster, pocket Bible and a discreetly hidden miniature hatchet.)
