The Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF) gala was two years in the planning. Marketing material was mailed one year in advance to insure strong donor support and
to create buzz about the event.
The invitation was imagined as the Accademy Awards winner envelope.
The invitation was printed in black and metalic gold, which keep costs down,
while reinforcing old Hollywood glamour.
The dinner part of the evening was designed as if quests were eating at the
Brown Derby, a popluar restaurant of the 1940's. On each plate was placed a brochure with the schedule of the evening, a little history of the Brown Derby, and the dinner menu. The menu reflected favorite dishes served at the Brown Derby, including the ever popular Cobb Salad, which orginated at the restaurant. The flashing stars created sparkeling ambiance throughout the dimly lit dinning room.
The LTEF Variety program highlighted the honorees, thanked donors, contained the history of LTEF, sponsor advertisments, and the fundraising goals of the event.
