View towards Scheveningen during storm, Wassenaarseslag, South-Holland, Autumn ‘20

Dark and giant clouds came rolling in. Sunset. Strong winds. The waves reached all the way to the dunes. Kiters battled the giant waves. Light reflected on the beach. Rays of sunligt at the horizon, Scheveningen in a golden light. Minutes later I was hiding behind a dune for the heavy rain. A wonderful end of the day along the coast — M.D.
Dutch light,

fleeting beauty. Flat horizons. Wide cloudy skies. Spots of light in the landscape. The light in the Netherlands has something special due to the water in the landscape that reflects light towards the sky. I found a way to capture the beauty of this. Traveling across my home country, I capture the moment the land, light and sky are in perfect coherence. Engaged in a daily battle, to be at the right place at the right time, I captured unique scenes of the famous Dutch light.

Made,

out of multiple photographs, my works show the beauty of Dutch light and sky in a unique way. All artworks show large scenes, many details, and often the vastness of the sky. The photographs are made with a combination of digital and analog photo gear. The biggest challenge for creating a unique work, is being at the right place at the right time. Other than the landscape, the clouds and light are always different. Following daily weather developments, searching for locations, countless attempts, being lucky, and hours of editing are all part of the creation process.

Masterpiece collection,

a collection of my best work. Large scenes made out of multiple photographs show the moment land, light and sky were in perfect balance. Unique moments of the beauty of the Netherlands captured forever.

Thank you,

for being my audience.
