[THE GOLDEN MEMORY] - Another piece of artwork displayed at the @wonderwall.today exhibition. The skateboard is painted with Molotow acrylic based marker with alcohol based gold pigment ink, coated with Molotow 2K clear varnish. The board was actually one of the few art pieces I actually have at home, since the majority of my work are murals and digital illustrations.
The concept of the artwork is “The golden hope within the darkness”. Our memories of the past can bring you great pain, yet it is also the way to get you out from it. It’s all a matter of perspectives. Our memories can be a curse while it can also be a gift. Our experience and memories shaped who and what we are. I guess it’s not about running away from the pain, yet to embrace it with open arms, and pay attention to what we have in the present. Taking baby steps, one day at a time. Through pain and sadness, it’s where great realization happens, to become a kinder, gentler human being.
Creating smaller pieces is actually very challenging for me, since I have always worked on a large scale and when it comes to creating intricate details, it’s much easier to control how fine they are, yet working on smaller pieces requires steady hands and patience. The process is often a challenge of endurance and mental stability. Yet to give anything less than your best is the sacrifice of the gift. 🙏🏻
