WILD IN THE BACKYARD

WILD IN THE BACKYARD
For this assignment fictional, the question was if I can get parents and children excited about paying more attention to the animals that live in backyards. over the years, in fact, more and more important animals are disappearing from backyards which unbalances biodiversity.

The fictional assignment was sponsored by the Netherlands bee foundation "bijenstichting Nederland" and the bird protection society "vogelbescherming". This is intended to be a profitless campaign.

Children are very fond of pets, that made me think maybe I can make the garden animals more like pets. So I made a booklet where children together with their parents can put in everything about the animals they would like to see in their garden as a free pet. Just like they would care for a cat or dog. For example, where they sleep what they eat and so on. All this information could then be found on an  accompanying website.

The booklets are a donation to primary schools. This is ideal because, parents are in this generation more likely to approve things when it comes from a school. There is an instagram-page for parents to look for fun projects to do with there children to help their garden pets. Also on the website there are some fun tips like bee hotels or hedgehog houses.

For extra image recognition, I have designed buttons to put on bags or jackets. These buttons are seen by other children outside their schools, and parents will recognise it more and more.
