This is a 3D polyjet print of a kitsune (fox) gashapon (capsule toy) capsule initially sculpted in Rhino 7 that illustrates my themed experience philosophy. With a capsule toy, like themed entertainment, it is about the thrill of surprise. In themed entertainment a space can transform from ordinary to extraordinary and by participating in that space, you can be transformed. My kitsune gashapon transforms as well by opening up to reveal fortune telling prizes inside. Inside is a paper Fortune Slip and a laser cut wooden mini Ema Prayer Board like those found at Japanese Shinto Shrines and an acrylic laser cut tarot card. Like Fortune Telling, themed experiences should reflect on knowledge from the past to create an engaging present that changes your outlook on the future - and it doesn't hurt if there is a little magic in there too!
