Colombia was one of the countries hit very hard by the pandemic, especially its economy. To recover, only one behavior needed to be changed: the use of masks so that deaths and infections would decrease and the economy could gradually reopen. What was done was a data center where the pandemic was monitored in real-time, and it told us what message should go in each zone of the country. If there were clandestine parties in a city, we launched a message to avoid them plus the message of mask-wearing. At the same time, we managed to unify a single message that all companies in the country replicated. This led to Colombia being ranked #12 in Bloomberg's ranking of the best countries that handled the pandemic, #1 in Latin America, #2 in the Americas. Colombia was the exceptionality in that group of rich and developed countries.
