Having painstakingly surveyed Edinburgh's Royal Mile, (measuring everything we could get our hands on, from windows and bricks to doors and arches) my colleague and I set out to draw up this elevation and completed the task in one week.

We centred St Giles Cathedral in the middle of the final drawing - which, at a scale of 1:100, came to measure over three metres in width. This scale allowed us to pay particular attention to the finer details, and I gained a deeper understanding of Edinburgh's Gothic and Georgian architecture.
