a story OFFperfection presents an attitude, a way of thinking that attributes a positive
quality to what is OFF and raw, to what does not seek perfection. Through the assemblage of
non-conventionally-related-elements, the imagery intends to raise questions
regarding the perception of aesthetics values.
Based on the timeless approach of the AS FOUND humanist manifest, a story OFFperfection
aims to detach itself from a particular trend or movement to be the result of a specific
meaning. The engagement with what is “wrong” ends up being not about the things in themselves,
but about the context they are put into.
Through the creation of a fictional persona, a story OFFperfection intends to celebrate the randomness of daily life, its inherent epic moments and the imperfection that surrounds reality.
The storytelling aims to question the perfectionism obsession intrinsic to western culture,
which denigrates and criticizes personality, self-expression and difference. Through the
exploration of an extensive range of themes, objects and behaviors
a story OFFperfection wants to honor “outside of the box” attitudes.
