Print Competition
The Problem:
Many young, educated girls in India have high aspirations to get into STEM careers, but societal stereotypes and family pressure act prevent them to actualize their dreams.
Objective:
To challenge societal stereotypes and convince parents that educating their girl child in this field will not only empower them but get them ready for the future.
Insight:
People make judgments. And when it comes to women, even a picture is enough to jump to conclusions. We use people’s tendency of jumping to conclusions to drive forth our message- that a woman belongs in STEM.
Idea:
We create a print campaign with one powerful image of a woman giving birth. Only this time, she’s not the mother, but instead a world-renowned surgeon. With this, we aim to break age-old stereotypes about women and encourage parents and society to give women a chance through the fields of STEM
