As a coffee lover and a product designer, I wanted to create a solution that addressed the growing need for convenience and speed in our fast-paced world. The result was the CGM 2 3 2030, a portable coffee machine that allows you to prepare your coffee on the go.
The CGM 2 3 2030 is designed to be the ultimate travel companion for coffee enthusiasts. It combines a coffee grinder, an electric kettle, and a cup into one compact and ergonomic body. This allows you to grind your coffee beans and heat up your water while you're on the move, resulting in a hot and freshly brewed cup of coffee.
The CGM 2 3 2030 is also incredibly easy to use. All you need is a car lighter or a USB input to power the machine, and you're good to go. Its small and compact size makes it easy to store and carry with you wherever you go.
The machine has three main assemblies. The top part, where the coffee beans are stored and grinded. In this part is also connected the metal filter.
The second assembly is the cup. In this part are stored all electrical components that allows the machine to work. It is also used to boil the water and receive the final beverage, for that reason it’s produced in plastic material.
The last assembly is responsible so connects everything together. It is in the main body where the water mixes with the ground coffee and drink is brewed.
How it Works
This product works with the same principle has the moka pot. The water is boiled in the bottom recipient and when it gets to the perfect pressure, ascends to the top part, passing through the filter with the ground coffee, brewing it.
In this case, instead of passing through the filter, the water stays in contact with it, brewing by submersion. After a few minutes, the heat is turn off and the water descends to the cup and the coffee is ready to drink.
Creative Process
As a product that  is designed to be handled frequently, the sketching phase was total focused on ergonomics, trying to understand how the user would hold the machine and which shape would be the better for this king of equipment.
The sketching was followed by prototyping until the
final product was ready.
