Dreams by Twaan
In the short film "Dreams" we follow the life of a young and introspective boy with a remarkable gift – he experiences an array of vivid and common dreams every night. These dreams take him on exhilarating adventures and introspective journeys through his subconscious mind.
My motivation for this film was the material around me, dreams and experiences I've had and film served as the basis for creating the frames.
All paintings are abstract, thus being a reflection of dreams, and containing the animations of certain dreams in the form of augmented reality.

From Mozambique to the world 🌍
It’s been an amazing journey, participating at this year’s Monstra Festival de Animação de Lisboa 2024, being able to witness “Dreams” in the big screen & finally having the chance to talk a little bit about the idea behind the film.
A special thanks everyone who supported, to those took their time to come and witness this milestone in my career, to the Director of the Festival, Fernando Galrito and the rest of the Monstra team for giving me such a great experience and opportunity.

Dreams Portraits
Digital Art Exhibition at 16Neto, Maputo, Mozambique.
Each picture depicts a type of dream:
Running- dream of running away from your biggest fear - which could mean that you are trying to avoid something in your life.
Falling- dreaming of falling - can be related to everyday tensions or stress. External factors dictate how the body will rest throughout the night.
With the mind processing everything we experienced that day, we can end up transmitting the sensations of the dream to the body, generating involuntary reactions.

Sleep Paralysis- dream paralysis where your brain is awake but your body is unable to move and speak (usually happens before you go to sleep or right there when you wake up).
Dying- dreaming of dying that can mean the end and beginning of a new stage in your life.
Having super powers- dreaming of acquiring super powers (having this dream often can indicate that your confidence is high, in addition to self-esteem and increasing evolution in common day-to-day skills).
