Long hair for Iranian women
Usually I don't draw about the current news; especially with well-known motif.
Then I read the words of Bita Malakuti, an Iranian poetess. She explains that cutting hair is a symbol of deep anger, sadness and grief.
So I imagined many people, women, men, children who with their scissors, small or large, give their contribution with their feelings.
"I know my illustration is useless, but if we stop expressing ourselves altogether, we stop existing." I wrote this sentence before an Iranian woman thanked me for this illustration, so I thought that maybe it wasn't completely useless... it certainly served to thrill me for her unexpected words.
