Dark Monolith Album Cover
For this project the album cover was solely made in Photoshop by making photo manipulation. I decided for this project to make up everything, band name, record company, and album name. I got my inspiration from the 1968 2001: Space Odyssey movie. I really loved the monolith and how mysterious it is, so I wanted to create a dark mysterious image that would be fit for a rock band album. I thought it would be cool to have a huge monolith in the center of a road with only one way to go. I then manipulated the sky by adding dark clouds, a space nebula, and a thin yellow haze to the whole image including the back which is just a continuation of the space and clouds image. I then added the monolith on the back but made it subtle so it almost even just looks like a black bar. Also, the monolith I made myself, but the rest is a combination of painting and the use of stock images.
