LOVE IS LOVE / art exhibition

love is love
“Imagine”, Bell Hooks writes in her book named “all about love”, how easier would it be if we’d learn how to love from a common starting point of the definition of the word love. The word love is usually used as a noun, even though we should interpret it as a verb instead, not as an emotion that floods us, but as an act of will and courage. How different is love and adoration from art? Art and love are very close to one another due to the fact that they both shape the world through their colors, emotional and spiritual abundance and meaning, as Alain Badiou writes on “In praise of love”. David Batchelor, in his essay “Chromophobia” mentions that In the history of western culture, in art, color has been interpreted as something not important, less, dangerous. We can also track those traces back in ancient Greek tradition, in our store tools error, the error that defined the evolution of the art of painting and how people interpret it. The recent works of Valentini Mavrodoglou consist of a praise to love Through a battle between shapes, contrasts and colours. Through pastel lines, she creates human shapes that merge, being very difficult to be separated. Love, retention and passion are very defined in the depiction of those couples, through the bright colours, contrast, movement and lines she uses. Valentini Mavrodoglou creates a multicoloured spectrum, a universe of diversity and identities through the bright colours and the motion of her newest works, A place of acceptance, of unity and diversity, space of freedom, things essential for love to bloom and thrive and for the coexistence of every creature.
